First edition, one of 375 copies signed by the author, 2 volumes, large 8vo, original green cloth over beveled boards, titles and roundel containing author's monogram gilt to spines and front covers respectively, top edges gilt, bottom edges untrimmed, photogravure portrait frontispieces with tissue-guards, clear plastic dust jackets, cardboard slipcase, a few leaves unopened, publisher's prospectus laid in (with later ink inscriptions), endpapers spotted

The limitation leaves were signed by Yeats in 1939, the year of his death, but the publication of the work was delayed by the war.
