Footnote
A wartime sequel to Schéhérazade: Album Mensuel d'Oeuvres Inédites d'Art et de Litérature, Le Mot was founded by French illustrator and fashion designer, Paul Iribe. The publication aimed at distancing itself from the popular German modernism and pioneered a French artistic style, looking towards a revived classicism and placing itself as firmly politically centrist. The events of the First World War preoccupied much of the publication.
