Letter of exemption from service signed “James R.”, sent from Stirling Castle and addressed to Hugh Rose, 10th Baron Kilravock, due to his “diuers diseasis and infirmiteis of body…prouiding alwys that he send Ros his eldest sone and apperand air, accumpaneit with his houshald and secundis for him…", 20 lines on paper, with seal, also signed by J. Cambuskyneth and Argyll, 30.5 x 24.5cm, some staining [Rose, Shaw & Innes p.272]
