One of the first book-length accounts of overseas travel written in Hindi, described by the author of the first translation into English as ‘the first comprehensive eyewitness account-cum-history of China in any South Asian language’ (Yang, Thirteen Months in China: A Subaltern Indian and the Colonial World, Oxford, 2017). The author was a corporal in the 7th Rajputs regiment dispatched to China to suppress the Boxer Rebellion. No other copy traced at auction.
