Description
London: Wright & Brown, 1930s-50s. All 8vo, original cloth, with the dust jackets. Titles include:
The Yellow Devil, [1932]. First edition, undated on verso of title-page but jacket with presumed first-issue price of 7/6 and advertisement ‘Novels for Spring, 1932’ on rear panel, jacket with a few chips and tears;
Red Murchison, [1936]. First edition, possible later issue with overprice sticker (4/6) to jacket spine, no date on verso of title-page, jacket slightly worn, partial separation of rear panel from spine;
“The Tipster”, [1937]. First edition, possible later issue with jacket priced at 4/6 on spine (other copies noted with the presumably earlier price of 7/6), no date on verso of title-page, cloth mottled, chips and tears to dust jacket, price torn away from front flap;
The River Gang, 1938. First edition, possible later issue with overprice sticker of 4/6 to jacket spine (over original price of 3/6, itself perhaps signifying a later-issue jacket), chips and tears to dust jacket;
The Black Raven, [1939]. First edition, possible later issue with jacket priced 4/6 (other copies noted with the presumably earlier price of 7/6), no date on verso of title-page;
Shattered Hopes, 1941. First edition, dust jacket slightly chipped and worn and with old repairs verso;
and 23 others by Roland Daniel (all with the dust jackets), [Hubin, Crime Fiction II, 1994, vol. 1 p. 212] (29)
