Note: Gilson A9 First edition of Jane Austen's last published book, consisting of the first novel, (originally called "Susan") she submitted for publication and her last novel respectively, as well a biographical essay by her brother Henry and some extracts from her private correspondence. Some 1750 copies were printed. Initial sales were rapid, totaling over 1400 copies leaving just over 300 with the publisher by the end of 1818 after the disposal of copyright and presentation copies.
