北岩（邵云如）款 宜興《飲邁盧仝》帶蓋茶壺
of rectangular form, carved to one side with sprays of orchids and on the reverse with a poetic inscription yin mai Lu Tong (drink as heartily as Lu Tong) followed by a signature reading Bei Yan shi ke (carved by Bei Yan, the artist's name for Shao Yunru), the interior of the cover impressed with a seal possibly reading sheng bao

Footnote
Shao Yunru (1879–1930), also known by his studio name Beiyan, was a renowned master of zisha (purple clay) ceramic engraving.
Lu Tong (790–835), mentioned in the poetic inscription, refers to a Chinese poet of the Tang dynasty, known for his lifelong study of Chinese tea culture.
A comparable yixing teapot and cover, also signed Bei Yan, one side with inscriptions and the reverse carved with Bamboo, and with a mark on the underside of the cover reading sheng bao, was sold at Bonhams London, 5 November 2024, lot 396.
