Footnote
According to Ho Wing Meng in Straights Chinese Porcelain: A Collector's Guide, 1994, Singapore: Times Books International, p. 110: ‘for those pieces bearing what appear to be shop or potters' marks, namely… Shu Shun Ch'and tsao (許順昌造)… we know nothing as to the whereabouts of these porcelain factories in Kiangsi Province. Presumably, they were private kilns turning out export wares for the markets in Southeast Asia.’ Also refer to p. 118 for the comparable Xu Shuncang mark; and p. 92, pl. 56 for a comparable circular four-tier tingkat, probably Tongzhi period.
