Maintaining close ties with Hong Kong and mainland China, Kwok Keung visited his homeland often. He collected a variety of 20th-century art, including the paintings of Huang Zhou, to whom he was introduced and became an acquaintance of in the early 1970s, Seven Chicks being an example of a personal dedication from the artist. Kwok Keung continued to travel between China and the UK, on one occasion acting in the capacity of Manager of the Scottish Badminton team during their sojourn in China in the late 1980s.
