Description
清乾隆款及年代 銅鎏金百寶嵌太平有象擺件
cast as a caparisoned elephant standing on all fours, the body detailed with swirls and inlaid with multi-coloured stones, the beast bearing a lotus throne with a dome cover pierced and decorated with dragon, the base carved with a six-character Qianlong mark, further with a six-character ‘Yuanmingyuan disanfen’ (third section of Yuanmingyuan) mark

Compare to a related gilt-bronze watch with pedestal in the form of an elephant, dated to the 19th century, previously in the Qing Court Collection, now in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, accession no. gu za 故雜004427N.
參一例銅鎏金象錶,象身瓔珞鞍轡飾內填琺瑯,象背上雲龍紋托座環飾珍珠,內置一只圓形小錶,清宮舊藏,現藏臺北故宮博物館,館藏號「故雜004427N」,可資比較。
