清康熙 花押款 五彩荷塘清趣六角盤 共箱
of hexagonal form, painted with crane in lotus pond in the central medallion, each panel on cavetto with six different sea creatures including crayfish, crab, shellfish, carp, turtle and three-legged toad, the base inscribed with a character mark within two panels in underglaze blue, with a Japanese tomobako wooden box

Two closely comparable Wucai hexagonal dishes are similarly painted with crane in lotus pond in the centre and the same six sea creatures on cavettos: one in the Baur Collection in Geneva, published in John Ayres, Chinese Ceramics in the Baur Collection, volume I, Geneva, 1999, no. 120 [A237], p. 184; the other published in Iroe shonzui, Nankin akae, Kōki gosai : Minmatsu, Shinsho no gosai jiki, Kyōto Kokuritsu Hakubutsukan, Kyōto-shi, Heisei 5 [1993], no. 21.
