琉球 十七至十八世紀 黑漆嵌螺鈿花鳥紋長方几 帶木座
inlaid on the slightly recessed flattened top with cranes and birds amongst a tree issuing large flowering peonies next to rockwork, shaped friezes, raised on four trefoil feet, all sides decorated with floral scrolls, on a carved wooden stand

Provenance
Dr. Kenneth P. Lawley (1937-2023), Edinburgh. Acquired from Barry Sainsbury Antiques, 8 June 1977, with an original receipt stating this piece originated from Korea.
Dr Lawley was a chemical physicist in The School of Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh, he collected Asian Art all his life and his large collection was sold at this saleroom on 3 November 2023, lot 1-95.
