comprising: an official's rank badge, a rectangular silk embroidered sleeve with phoenix; three gold-thread couching sleeves on blue with dragon and phoenix above swirling waves; one multicolour silk embroidered sleeve with landscape with gold-thread borders; a silk blue and multicolour embroidered sleeve with butterflies and flowers; a large table cloth with cranes and flowers

Provenance: Private collection, Janet McCorkindale Cochrane Scott (1909 - 2005), thence by descent.
Janet McCorkindale Cochrane Scott was a keen embroider and was Chairman of the Glasgow Embroiders’ Guild. She was given the collection of what appeared to be ornate Chinese embroidery and clothing items by a fellow member of the Guild. She gave the collection to her daughter-in-law, who is also a keen embroiderer, in the late 1990’s.
