the exterior of the cup painted with Jia Baoyu and a female character from The Dream of the Red Chamber, inscribed 'Cai Zi Jia Ren' (talented young man and great beauty) and signed Chen Huazhen, the base with a seven-character 'Jiang Xi Chen Hua Zhen Chu Pin' (produced by Chen Huazhen in Jiangxi) mark in red stamp, the lid further decorated with the former male protagonist, inscribed, and interior of the finial with a four-character 'Hu Hua Chang Hui' (painted by Hu Huachang) mark in red stamp
