each decorated with twin birds and flowers on the flattened circular panels, the sides with scrolling lotus, a band of lappets decorating the foot and diaper on the mouth, flanked by a pair of pierced stylised handles, the base inscribed with a four-character Kangxi mark
Provenance: Sir Maurice William Ernest de Bunsen (1852-1932), and then by descent.
Sir Maurice William Ernest de Bunsen was a British diplomat who held many important international positions in the early 20th century, notably as Ambassador to Spain between 1906 and 1913, and Austria between 1913 and 1914.
