comprising: a pair of censers each cast with pairs of birds in cartouches on the exterior, dragons flanked the sides as handles, the pierced cover topped with a mythical beast as finial; a larger censer decorated on one side of the body with cranes, reverse a figure holding double-gourd collecting water, flanked by two sinuous dragons as handles, the cover set with a large mythical beast finial; together with A BRONZE FIGURE OF SINGHA, possibly Thai, set on a high wooden plinth
Provenance: The Late Dr Helen E C Cargill Thompson (1933-2020). The Cargill part of the family founded The Burmah Oil Company in 1876, and had interested in the East India Trading Company. Great friends of Burrell.
