康熙款 綠彩五龍趕珠大盤
painted with a five-clawed dragon in iron-red in the centre, surrounded by four dragons chasing ‘flaming pearls’ in green, blue, pale yellow, and grey respectively, all against a crashing-wave ground, the base inscribed with a six-character Kangxi mark in underglaze blue within double rings, with a wooden stand

Provenance: From the collection of the late Donald Black
Note: Donald Black was a renowned Jockey champion in Hong Kong in the mid-20th century. He moved to Hong Kong after the Second World War, following his service in the British Navy, stationed off India. As an accountant he was a partner with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co, until his retirement in 1962, when he returned to Great Britain.
