the eight day movement with anchor escapement, painted arched dial depicting Mary Queen of Scots and the home nations as young ladies, Roman numerals, subsidiary date and second dials, the swan neck pediment with brass ball finials over arched hood door flanked by fluted Doric columns, boxwood and ebony inlaid panel, moulded crossbanded trunk door, another similar panel, crossbanded plinth base, raised on bracket feet
