the grip covered in black leather and bound with a double twist of silver wire, long round section quillions with two turned knops at the edge of the cup-shaped hand guard, the later double edged blade with central fuller stamped 'JJ Runkle Solingen', with plain flat top pommel, 77cm blade; and a 17th century Spanish cup hilted rapier, the grip tightly bound with a double twist of silver wire, long quillions and knuckle guard with turned terminals at each end, the cup hand guard pierced and with scalloped top edge, the double edged blade of triangular section, with a wrythen turned pommel, 86cm blade (2)
