Description
of panelled sarcophagus form, the leaf scroll carved cavetto moulded lid with a gadrooned edge, the foliate canted corbel corners ending in concealed castors, the divided interior fitted with eight thistle and foliate engraved square decanters with stoppers
92cm wide, 63cm high, 55cm deep
Provenance: Major Morris of Moorburn, Largs, won the Waterloo Cup, and the Earl of Eglinton wanted to acquire the winning dog,and so offered this cellarette in exchange. The cellarette was accepted by Major Morris, the great great-great grandfather of Major Young, present owner
