by Whytock & Reid for Balmanno Castle, circa 1916, the field with allover ochre and cream geometric lattice centred by a circular blue medallion decorated with cranes, within light blue geometric inner border and light brown lotus and scrolling vine outer border

Provenance: Balmanno Castle was restored, remodelled and furnished by Sir Robert Lorimer for William Millar, a Glasgow shipping merchant, beginning in 1915. Much of the furniture was later sold after the Second World War.
