To mark the centenary of The Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, Lyon &amp; Turnbull is delighted to present 1925: Celebrating Art Deco - an exciting one-off auction in London. The June sale aims to bring together pieces by the designers who exhibited at the Paris Exhibition of 1925 and to shine a spotlight on the Art Deco style. &nbsp;The Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes held in Paris in 1925 was a defining moment in the history of design. A hundred years later reflecting on its legacy we can see just how was pivotal it was. Art Deco was recognised as a style at the Exposition and the name being a shortened form of Arts Décoratifs. The period has also been referred to as the ‘Roaring Twenties’, the ‘Thirties’, ‘Les Annees Folles’ or ‘The Crazy Years’, ‘Moderne’, ‘The Jazz Age’, and ‘Golden Age’ - an international style as opposed to a movement. It reflected the spirit of the age with shared influences.Art Deco was an aesthetic incorporated in all aspects of visual life, from architecture to interior design. We see it in furniture, lighting, carpets, textiles, sculpture, glass, ceramics, metalwork, and jewellery. It can also be seen in modes of travel and advertising, especially posters. The June auction includes superb examples encompassing all of these mediums by designers such as René Lalique, Demétre Chiparus, Gabriel Argy-Rousseau, Raoul Dufy, Roger Broders, Gio Ponti, Christofle, Michel Decoux, Georges Lavroff, Josef Lorenzl, Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann, Edgar Brandt, Marcel-Andre Bouraine and Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet. &nbsp;Buyer's Guide:
