set with faceted beads, spaced by black roundels, interspersed with lozenge shaped glass beads carved with foliate patterns, a few black roundels deficient, length 121.7cm
Provenance
By repute from the collection of the late Estelle Chapman, hence by decent.
Estelle Chapman was an English model and actress who began working in the 1930s. It is said she modelled for Normal Hartnell, dressmaker to the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth II. She also allegedly featured in the ground-breaking 1933 film King Kong, where she was the woman thrown out of a hotel window as Kong climbed skyward in the film's climatic scenes.
