coconut with a perforation for the insertion of coins, mounted to a wooden stand with an inscription running along the side reading as follows "This cocoanut [sic] (now a Missionary Box) comes from A...a [Aniwa], New Hebrides, S.W. Pacific ... cannibalism through the labours of Dr. John G. Paton"
