Footnote
Note: The vellum bound album is of particular interest, seemingly having been compiled by or for Pierre Dupont (1560-1640) who was Tapissier du Roy to Henry IV and Louis XIII and would presumably have consulted it for examples of figures and religious compositions. The fragments of paintings and drawings added in are mostly probably works made in the 17th century and later, by designers and other descendants. The album is headed "Le Morueux.
