printed inscription to selvedge THE TALIESIN LINE OF FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT with signature mark, framed
Note: In 1955, Wright designed a line of furnishings known as the 'Taliesin Ensemble' to decorate the houses of people who did not live in one of the houses he completed. F. Schumacher & Co. were one of five companies he collaborated with, who created a range of textiles and wallpapers. Although designed for 'average consumers' most average consumers were not familiar with or interested in Wrights design vocabulary and the range was not a commercial success, and is therefore now rare to find. The name Taliesin is a reference to Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright's winter home and school from 1937 until his death in 1959.
