Oyster Perpetual Submariner model 5508, 1962 from serial number on papers, signed Rolex calibre 1530 automatic movement numbered 99710, signed round black dial with 100m = 330ft, with applied lume plots, baton and triangle at 12, outer seconds track also in lume, lume-filled Mercedes hands, centre seconds hand with lume plot, lacking bezel, screw-down crown with coronet, no crown guards, with 5508 and 11.62 to the caseback interior, on a generic stainless steel bracelet strap, with papers, no box
Note: amended provenance - previously it was stated here that the watch was worn when the MV Fernmoor sank, it was not, it was purchased later. This watch belonged to Merchant Navy seaman Ronald Leask. He purchased the watch during the maiden voyage of the MV Highland. Copies of his log books accompany the watch, not the originals.
