OVERVIEW
This exciting full-time position, based in London, will create imagery at a professional level for the full set of London auctions. Our London team currently focus on fine art, design, jewellery, watches, and Asian, Islamic & Indian art. These areas feature paintings, sculpture, works on paper, ceramics, glass, fine jewellery, watches, furniture and antiques.
This is an interesting and varied role that will require the successful candidate to be efficient, flexible, a team-player and a strong communicator. As part of a busy team working in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment, the securing and maintenance of strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders will be essential.
THE TEAM
Working closely with every department in the company, the Photography team is responsible for the visual
language of Lyon & Turnbull and for showing off the diverse range of items we handle to their best.
The current team is currently formed of three full-time photographers and a bank of freelancers. This new role will work with the existing team to support the company's expanding London presence and their active auction schedule.
THE ROLE
As a Photographer at Lyon & Turnbull, reporting to the Head of Photography, you will capture images for our catalogues, advertising materials, and website. Your responsibilities will include studio and location photography, post-production, file
management and workload planning. You will also liaise with specialists, sale coordinators and art handlers, meet deadlines consistently, and be prepared to travel as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute and oversee photography sessions for a wide range of items, including fine art, antiques,
jewellery, and ceramics in the studio and on location - Work closely with internal teams to understand their requirements and produce high-quality, eye-catching photographs
- Co-ordinate freelance support where required
- Manage end-to-end photography processes, including set-up, shooting, post-production, and delivery
- Maintain consistency across all visual assets, ensuring compliance with Lyon & Turnbull’s brand
identity
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years of professional studio experience in photographing fine art, jewellery, sculpture,
and furniture. - Familiarity professional camera systems.
- Knowledge of catalogue and e-commerce photography, appropriate studio lighting techniques and best practices.
- Experience using Capture One, Adobe Photoshop and Helicon Focus on mac or pc.
- A willingness to work and communicate effectively with others.
- A strong passion for Photography and a desire to constantly develop your skillset.
- Attention to detail and good time management are essential as well as multi-tasking, prioritisation skills and motivation to consistently meet deadlines.
- Physical capability to handle equipment and artwork when required. And ability engage in physical tasks throughout the workday.
DETAILS & BENEFITS
- Full time - standard company hours 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work may
be required at needs of company - Based in various central London locations – at Lyon & Turnbull’s gallery and stores. Hybrid working
available when processing/ editing required. - Salary subject to experience
- Some UK travel may be required to other company locations
