Biography

Matthew Yeats is a Junior Specialist in the Design department. After working for a prominent decorative arts and furniture dealer in London, Matthew joined Lyon & Turnbull in 2019 and supports all design auctions with cataloguing, research and article-writing, condition reporting, and acting as the first point of contact for any design-related queries in London.

Matthew studied French and History of Art at the University of Edinburgh, then graduated from the Masters programme ‘Modern & Contemporary Art: History, Curating, Criticism’ from the same university in 2017. A keen researcher and writer, he is also continuing his studies and working towards his PhD in history of art with the University of St Andrews, where he is specialising in late-nineteenth and early-twentieth century French artists and their writing. Matthew is passionate about modern decorative arts and design and would be delighted to discuss any design consignment enquiries.
