Head of Contemporary & Post-War Art, Charlotte Riordan and Director of the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust, Rob Airey discuss the Trust and the life and work of Wilhelmina Barns-Graham and the St Ives School, highlighting key works featuring in our forthcoming auction.
This October we are delighted to present The Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Collection, an auction of works from the Scottish artist’s private collection of paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, ceramics and jewellery by members of the St Ives School including Dame Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson and Sir Terry Frost. Every work of art in Wilhelmina Barns-Graham’s collection is individual and personal, because they map her friendships, and reveal the people that meant most to her as a woman and as an artist of the first rank. Collectively they throw light on Barns-Graham herself and on those fellow artists she knew well and admired.
The Collection will be offered on 28th October at the Mall Galleries in London on behalf of the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust (WBGT).
