Rachel Rose Smith is a researcher and curator living in London. Since September 2020 she has been editing the catalogue raisonné of Ben Nicholson’s paintings and reliefs.
Her previous research has centred on artists working in West Cornwall, particularly the work of Barbara Hepworth. She completed her PhD in 2015, when she became Curator of the Heong Gallery at Downing College, and then Assistant Curator of Modern British Art at Tate Britain.
Selina Skipwith is an Independent Art Consultant and a member of the Association of Professional Art Advisors. She was Director and Keeper of Art of The Fleming Collection 1996-2014.
She writes and lectures extensively both on corporate collections and on Scottish art. She has curated numerous exhibitions in the UK and abroad and is a Trustee at the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust.
Rebecca Birrell was born in Liverpool in 1991. She studied English Literature at UCL, then Women’s Studies at The University of Oxford. She has occupied curatorial positions at the Jewish Museum London, The Department of Prints and Drawing at The British Museum and at The Charleston Trust. In 2018 she undertook a fellowship at the Yale Center for British Art. While finishing her PhD at the Edinburgh College of Art, she worked on the photographic archive at The Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust. She is currently Assistant Keeper of Paintings, Drawings and Prints at the Fitzwilliam Museum, University of Cambridge.
Her first book, This Dark Country: Women Artists, Still Life and Intimacy in the Early Twentieth Century, a blend of collective biography and art criticism, was published by Bloomsbury in August 2021.
Charlotte Riordan is the Head of Contemporary & Post-War Art at Lyon & Turnbull and a specialist in Scottish art, including the work of the Colourists, as well as Modern British and European paintings.
A History of Art graduate from the University of Glasgow, Charlotte specialised in inter-war European art and the British public art movement of the 1970s. She regularly presents art historical talks and lectures. In her spare time, Charlotte spent several years as the co-curator of the art programme for Edinburgh’s Hidden Door Festival; an annual showcase of young artistic talent.
