Operating between 1878 and 1890 - Linthorpe Art Pottery in Middlesbrough was started by Dresser and businessman & landowner, John Harrison. Acting as Art Superintendent between 1879 and 1882, Dresser designed over 1,000 pots for the Pottery. The Pottery achieved national and international recognition starting in 1882 when it was exhibited at the Society of Arts Exhibition of Modern English Pottery.
