We are delighted to be launching 'The Classic Tradition' in London to meet with the market’s demand for high quality works of painting and sculpture throughout the centuries. A boutique scale and curated format will allow us to really focus attention on each of the selected works, giving each artwork the space and presentation they deserve.
The inaugural sale will take place on 30th October at Carlton House Terrace, home of The British Academy, on Pall Mall within easy reach of St James’s and Mayfair. Alongside two auctions a year, we will promote the sale through a series of special events, lectures and exhibitions.
Launching the sale will be an exhibition in our Connaught Street gallery, “Bright Souls” The Forgotten Story of Britain’s First Female Artists, which celebrates the work of Mary Beale, Joan Carlile and Anne Killigrew. On view from Monday 24th June until 6th July, the exhibition has been curated by Dr Bendor Grosvenor and will be accompanied by a catalogue.
We are currently inviting selected entries for this new auction of British and European masters until Friday 13 September, including works of portraiture and landscape, sporting, marine and genre scenes. To find out more, or for an up-to-date valuation on any artworks you may be considering selling, please do get in touch.
