Celebrating Decades of Design
The Great Exhibition in London in 1851 was a trigger for change in field of art and design. This sale celebrates the work of artists and designers from all the major modern design movements of the period, from the Aesthetic and Arts & Crafts movements of the second half of the 19th century through the Art Nouveau movement at the turn of the 20th century, Art Deco and early Modernist movements.

Our Range of Experience
Our experience covers all the applied arts; ceramics, art glass, furniture, textiles, metalwork and works of art as well as works on paper and books. The objects we sell speak of the time in which they were made, retaining their value because of their quality, their aesthetic beauty, or their place in design and collecting history. In the field of Scottish Design we auction works by the Glasgow designers including Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Frances and Margaret Macdonald, Herbert MacNair and Jessie M. King. Work by Edinburgh designers Sir Robert Lorimer and the Irish born artist Phoebe Anna Traquair are also included in these auctions.
