清 玉雕擺件與硬石吊墜(三件)
comprising: a white jade in a double gourd form, carved with a symbol of shuangxi (happiness and marriage), the reverse side with similar decoration but showing russet colouring; a pierced jade disc carved with scrolling decoration; and an agate pendant carved as a fruit of flat form
Provenance: From the collection of the late Donald Black.
Note: Donald Black was a renowned Jockey champion in Hong Kong in the mid-20th century. He moved to Hong Kong after the Second World War, following his service in the British Navy, stationed off India. As an accountant he was a partner with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co, until his retirement in 1962, when he returned to Great Britain.
