A. Péry et Cie. was founded in 1875 by Monsieur Lucien Péry. As their maker's mark suggests, Lucien was joined by his son Albert in the early 20th century. Albert began to look beyond the workshop and his vision led to collaborations with Boucheron, Chaumet and Van Cleef & Arpels. Pery et Cie were responsible for making some of the most iconic jewels for Van Cleef & Arpels, including the Ludo bracelet, the Zip necklace, the animal brooches and the 'passe-partout' jewels. These collaborations meant that jewellery by the firm entered some of the best collections. For example a gold and diamond choker worn by Doris Duke on her wedding in 1947, made by A. Péry et Cie. sold, her collection; Christie's, June 2004.
