Footnote
Note: In 1919 W.H. Hudson met T. E. Lawrence who
confessed that he had read The Purple Land at least a dozen times. Hudson quipped that his book was, “exactly the type of book that a young adventurer like this would enjoy, since Lawrence is himself a kind of Richard Lamb.”
