Note: This design by Christopher Dresser, no. 206162, was registered and patented by the Coalbrookdale Foundry at the Public Records Office on 18th February 1867 and is seat no. 45 in their 1875 Castings Catalogue, section II, page 251.
At the 1867 Universal Exhibition he exhibited a few of his own works, including a ‘Water Plant’ cast iron garden seat, which was also available as an armchair. It was also exhibited at subsequent exhibitions: London in 1871, Vienna in 1873, and Paris in 1878.
