Footnote
Note: When Reeves first came to Glasgow (in 1954), people told him how wonderful the north west of Scotland was for painting. So he deliberately headed up the east coast. Its landscape appealed greatly and resulted in many prints and paintings. He found the redness of the earth, rocks and cliffs fascinatingly different from the chalk-white strata he knew in southern England where he was born and brought up.
