Note: Manuscript note on front endpaper "Found at Culloden, 1897". Culloden House was the family home of the Forbes and was sold in 1897. It is a house of special significance to Scots, famously having been requisitioned during the Rising in 1745 by Bonnie Prince Charlie before the Battle of Culloden. Arthur Forbes, the 7th Laird, was a distinguished military man, with the rank of Captain. Nineteenth century Scottish library stamp on verso of one table.
