plan in ink and watercolour showing the Governor's residence (now the Presidential house), 1740s, 71.5 x 49.5cm
Note: A manuscript plan from around 1746 depicting the site and several buildings of today's Mauritian State House, Le Château de Réduit. It is rare to find a Mauritian document of this age, this item being even more remarkable in its depiction of this important mansion in Réduit. The mansion was built for Governor David as a defence on a spur in case of attack, it is now the Presidential residence.
