Description
Admiral Ld. Nelson mortally wounded by a musket ball in the ever memorable victory off Trafalgar … London: W.B. Walker, Dec. 5, 1805. Framed, large size.
Note: Le Quesne 9. As with similar pictures, the scene is inaccurate, as when struck by the musket ball Nelson fell not into the arms of an officer but on the deck. Nelson was then picked up and carried down to the cockpit on the top deck. Not in the National Maritime Museum, Royal Naval Museum or the Nelson Museum at Monmouth.
