清乾隆 粉彩菸葉紋蓋瓶、花口盤及把杯(共七件)
comprising: three lidded baluster vases, of which two larger ones are a pair, 29cm and 22cm high; three lobed dishes, 23.5cm, 22.9cm and 16.5cm; together with a tankard with a rattan-woven metal handle, 12.5cm high; all similarly enamelled with exuberant hibiscus flowers with bright pink tending towards yellow as the petals slightly turned back, accompanied by poppies and florets, the tobacco leaves enamelled in sky-blue, lime-green and pink, two larger lobed dishes each further painted with a pair of pheasants and a squirrel handing on a twig
Provenance: Private English collection, Hampshire; the collection has been in the family for over four generations, since the 1920s
Note: each vase and two larger plates attached with an old label
Note: The main period of Famille Rose 'Pseudo Tabacco Leaf' wares is between 1765 and 1795, during the Qianlong period. Through Macau, Portuguese merchants and its Brazilian colony, amongst other countries, seem to appreciate 'Pseudo Tabacco Leaf' patterns the most.
