Half red morocco, retaining original marbled boards, c.200 pages, [c.1810], 8vo, curious pencil designs, many in chinoiserie style, possibly intended as wall plaques, also designs of troughs and plant pots, many executed to professional standards, in all 53 pencil designs, possibly work of Ann Duval, whose name appears more than once within; [Elphinstone] C., F., i.e. Frances Curteis. Manuscript miscellany of verse, [Leasam, Rye, Sussex, c.1867], illustrated with watercolours and ink drawings, all verse rendered in calligraphic Gothic, c.106 pages, inscribed "Lady Elphinstone with F.C.'s love, Sept. 1867", prefatory poem dated as from Leasam [Leasam House, Rye, Sussex], residence of Major Edward Barrett Curteis (1805-1879) and his wife Frances Curteis (1816-1887), 19th century red cloth, spine slightly worn (2)
