Notes: Along with the Order of the Thistle breast badge worn by Prince Charles, the Garter sash is a constant reminder of his position and power within portraits. Such high levels of chivalry cement his claim and right to the throne showing his just cause.
A large section of what appears the same ribbon is within the collection of the National Museum of Scotland (H.NC57, gifted by Gilbert Innes, in 1798)
