oak, design no.4, bears a label to the underside of the top inscribed 'Dining table in English quartered oak was designed by Gordon Russell and constructed by hand by G. Cooke in the workshops of Russell and Sons, Broadway, Worcestershire England in May 1923'

Note: This table was designed by Russell in April 1923 which must make the present lot an early, if not the earliest example of this model produced by the firm.
