Provenance: James Craig, Glasgow, and thence by descent to the present owner.
Note: In the 1920s, James Craig had around 20 tearooms in Glasgow, with the 'Rhul' and the 'Gordon' serving as their famous showpieces. The Rhul and the Gordon were known as 'the unofficial Art Galleries of Glasgow', due to the quality and quantity of Craig's renowned 'Glasgow Boys' art collection which hung on the walls.
