to include: a 17th/early 18th century all steel swivelling triple fob seal with ornate scrolling handle, slide to allow the triple matrix to revolve, (see footnote), Hazelwood school tokens (x 4), Maria Theresa Thaler; white metal medallions for the prevention of the assassination George III and presentation of colours to Birmingham loyal society, a medallion for Gutenberg anniversary, agate handled desk seal, a fob seal a/f, all in a 19th century mahogany box
The revolving seal has been tentatively identified as a simplified version of the arms of the Kingdom of Denmark and Norway. If this hypothesis is correct, this seal dates from the early to late 17th Century, during that century there are only two Kings of Denmark and Norway who were appointed as Knights of the Order of the Garter. They were King Christian IV (born 1577 died 1648) who was appointed as a KG in 1603 and his grandson, King Christian V (born 1646 died 1699) who received the Garter in 1662.
