Note: Inscribed to the front free-endpaper: "To Robert Bartlett from the Author 1954", matching other examples of Ian Fleming's handwriting. Robert Bartlett was the artist who provided the pencil sketch of Fleming for the rear cover of the dust-jacket of Casino Royale. Bartlett was a fellow officer of Fleming's during the Second World War, both men serving in the Naval Intelligence Division.
