Footnote
Note: Created to mark the 250th anniversary of one of Scotland's most famous sons, the poet Robert Burns. Only 250 bottles were produced making this one of the rarest releases of limited edition bottles from Macallan in recent years.
The level of detail that has been observed in creating this item is noteworthy. The Macallan's Master Blender Bob Dalgarno chose two sherry casks, one from 1997 and one from 1998, both of which bore the number 1759, the year of Burns' birth. The bottle itself is an original design modelled on the head and shoulders of The Macallan bottle. The presentation box was designed by Harvey McLean, a master cabinet maker, whose workshop is a short walk from Burns' birthplace. The box itself is handmade from Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) and includes a Burns poem unique to each bottle.
